They followed Jesus. Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, “What do you want?” They said, “Teacher, where are you staying?” “Come,” he replied, “and you will see.” So they went and saw where he was staying, and they spent that day with him. John 1:37-39 NIV

When Jesus began His earthly ministry, He went in search of disciples—not simply converts, but disciples—those who would come and see. Those who would walk with Him. Spend time with Him. Know Him. Love Him. Join in the work He was doing.

He sought out the ones who would ask, Where are you staying—so they might follow Him, stay with Him, and carry the movement He was birthing.

There is increased activity and advancement in the Kingdom of God in this season. Do you discern the stirring in your soul? Jesus is still looking for movement carriers today—disciples who make knowing Him and staying close to Him their highest priority—so they may rightly reflect Him to a desperate world.

How do you respond to Jesus’ invitation to come, see and stay? Do you spend the day with Him presenting a laundry list of your needs and desires? Or do you ask Him, What are you doing today, Lord? Where are you staying? I want to spend the day with you! I want to do what you’re doing!

Where do you sense Jesus staying today?

What movement are you presently seeing in the Kingdom of God?

How will you respond?

The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus. John 1:41-41 NIV
