We have been learning how to make declarations, commands and decrees—first over ourselves and then over our families. Now we turn to God’s invitation to partner with Him in governing the earth—making declarations, commands and decrees to advance the sovereignty of His Kingdom in the nations.
God clearly says what we do on earth is directly connected to what He is doing in heaven.
This truth of who I am will be the bedrock foundation on which I will build my church—my legislative assembly, and the power of death will not be able to overpower it! I will give you the keys of heaven’s kingdom realm to forbid on earth that which is [already] forbidden in heaven, and to release on earth that which is [already] released in heaven. Matthew 16:18-19
The enemy releases his kingdom of evil on earth through broken and sinful people. Look around at the lies, atrocities and injustices unleashed over the past year to find overwhelming evidence to support this heartbreaking truth.
God also uses broken and sinful people—redeemed by the blood of Christ—to release His Kingdom of light and life on earth. How does He do this? He asks us to partner and align with Him in prayer through declarations, commands and decrees to enforce the victory of Christ’s death on the cross in the earth.
We know, it feels frightening—and above our pay grade—to confront the highest principalities and authorities operating in rebellion under the heavenly realms. Who are we to assume that kind of authority? And how do we execute such authority?
Remember, confronting high-ranking principalities is not the same as casting out demons—authority we have already been given in Jesus’ name. When Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal, he didn’t cast out Baal. Rather, he defeated the spirit of Baal operating in the prophets by demonstrating the overcoming and supreme power of God.
We do not need to defeat these enemies. That war has been fought and won by Jesus Christ. We are simply using our delegated authority in Christ to enforce and release His victory on earth and in the lives of those afflicted by unclean spirits. Remember, we are the Ekklesia—God’s transition team to transform government and social structures for the purpose of conforming everything in earth to God’s Kingdom way of life. This is not inherently a religious model but a Kingdom legislative model for life and godliness.
Jesus Himself taught us to pray, Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Our protection as we enforce Christ’s victory is our communion with God. Intentionally remember the blood of Jesus through communion as you practice taking up the authority that is yours to transform the world.
Here are some decrees to help you get started:
In the name of Jesus—
We decree the sovereignty of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob over our nation.
We dismantle all corrupt government institutions at every level that have denied and dishonored God and defrauded His people.
We turn back the trespasses of all enemy agents on our freedoms, rights and personal sovereignty.
~~~~~
We tear down all mind control operations and programming.
We decree liberation of hearts and minds from the debilitating powers of deception, addiction and mental illness.
We render null and void all assaults on the hearts and minds of the people in our nation.
~~~~~
We loose the power of true justice into every court in the land.
We call upon God’s righteous judgment to be unleashed against the wicked.
We refute false charges and allegations against the righteous and issue the vindication – Not Guilty.
~~~~~
We bind every demonic power that seeks to undermine education in our state and nation.
We forbid all activity that is designed to exploit and prey upon children.
We bring down the hammer of the Father’s justice on those who cause little ones to stumble.
~~~~~
We cancel all assignments of the enemy to bring unrest and violence into our nation.
We partner with God’s angel armies to bring His unwavering love and peace into every aspect of our culture.
We decree that our God is greater than the spirit of division, hatred and violence.
Surely then you will find delight in the Almighty and will lift up your face to God. You will pray to him, and he will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows. What you decide on will be done, and light will shine on your ways. Job 22:26-28
