THE ROCK THAT IS HIGHER . . .
I cry out to you for help when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalm 61:2 NIV
Are the troubles of life closing in around you? Are worries wearing you thin? Where are you feeling overwhelmed?
In times like this, it can be hard to fix your eyes on Jesus and nearly impossible to look past the visible trial right in front of you to the invisible power of God to keep you safe and carry you through. But that is just the thing we need to do.
It’s easy to get locked in with doubt and discouragement. Instead, fix your eyes and thoughts on Jesus. Instead, fix your eyes and thoughts on Jesus.
Look for God to overwhelm your opposition. Align with His active love in your behalf. Surrender your anxious heart to His sovereign power in your present need and see what He will do!
He knows. He’s got it. He’s right there with you—you are not alone.
My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in your weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV
His sufficiency is like a great barrier reef to the ocean of grievance that assaults the soul.
In what ways are you feeling overwhelmed?
How do you see God active in your most difficult circumstance?
Thank Him for His supreme sufficiency…
Father God, your grace is continually sufficient in me and
your power finds its full expression in my weakness.
