• KNOW YOUR ENEMY – WAR ROOM #5

    Are you battle ready?

The past few years have given rise to an alarming increase in confusion, turmoil and lawlessness. We seem to be waging war with many of the people and institutions we’ve trusted and held in esteem for so long. How can we possibly prevail in times like these?

The key to victory is to know our enemy and recognize his strategies—who, what, where and when are we fighting.

Who? [The devil] was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. John 8:44

What? Justice is driven back, and righteousness stands at a distance; truth has stumbled in the streets, honesty cannot enter. Truth is nowhere to be found, and whoever shuns evil becomes a prey. Isaiah 59:14-15

Where? For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12

When? Proclaim the Word of God and stand upon it no matter what! Rise to the occasion and preach when it is convenient and when it is not. 2 Timothy 4:2

Spiritual warfare is very real. We are not just battling for territories, defeating demons or breaking curses. We are warring for the truth!

Why? Because in the absence of truth, chaos reigns and justice fails.

Chaos is a principality with tyrannical spiritual authority. It creates confusion, steals clarity and escalates fear until people obediently comply with tyranny, rather than truth, just to regain a sense of order.

God’s people know the only Truth that brings true freedom and dispels chaos—the Lord Jesus who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. The enemy is terrified we will wake up, take our positions and begin to wage war for truth.

The battle to destroy us intensifies the more we wake up, arm up, and speak up. Suppression of truth inevitably leads to war. Don’t let this scare you! God’s Kingdom is one of order and peace. As His sons and daughters, we were made to have dominion over chaos and tyranny. It is our destiny to establish the truth of God here on earth as it is in heaven.

Where have you accepted tyranny rather than standing up for truth?

What are some ways you can take authority over chaos? In your home? In your family? In your community?

Where is God prompting you to stand for truth?

Know your enemy and know yourself,
and you can fight a hundred battles without disaster.
