FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS
This special time-critical message of encouragement and activation to the body of Christ is offered by guest contributor Kyle Tibbitts.
for such a time as this!

The enemy always attacks at the point of transition.
With fear and panic spreading, cases of COVID-19 skyrocketing, and transmission hot spots popping up across the United States, it’s clear the enemy has launched a full scale viral attack against God’s people and the world at large.
But what if this offensive is aimed at blocking a transitional move of God that is already underway? What if we have the power to defeat this viral wave of terrorism from our own home turf?
It’s no coincidence that this virus is called the coronavirus. Corona is latin for crown, the ultimate symbol of authority. What we’re witnessing in the natural realm is the escalation of a battle in the spiritual realm, a head-to-head clash of “crowns” as the enemy seeks to take and keep control of earthly principalities.
Significantly, one month from today, Jews and Christians around the world will celebrate the eighth day of Passover. The next 30 days will be critical––in terms of both the epidemiological and spiritual battle against coronavirus and the spirit of fear that has enveloped the world.
The Passover is spiritually relevant to what’s happening right now.
Exodus 12:7,13 says, Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses… The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are; and when I see the blood I will pass over you.
As we socially isolate and self-quarantine in our homes, perhaps we can relate to how the Israelites felt as they waited, worshipped and wondered with a dual sense of awe and anxiety about what would be sweeping through Egypt next.
The doorway that covered them with God’s grace was their threshold to freedom––a transition point.
What we know on this side of history––that the Israelites did not––is that this would be the last of ten plagues that would finally unlock their exodus from Egypt. After 430 years of slavery and oppression, the Angel of Death was about to sweep through Egypt, claiming the life of every firstborn son. But those who marked their house with the blood of the lamb––a foreshadowing of Jesus’ death on the cross––were spared and set up for their journey out of bondage.
In the present season, God is dismantling earthly systems of oppression at the individual, regional and territorial level––and the attack we are now facing is meant to stop this from happening.
Look at the places on the map where this virus originated and subsequently exploded––China, Italy, Iran. These countries are the modern epicenters of Communism, European Socialism and Islamic Fundamentalism. Places where people are held in bondage by their government, unable to worship as they please, and obstructed from accessing the liberty that can only come through faith in Jesus. Places where man’s laws are put above God’s to create a yoke of oppression. Places where the crown sits firmly on the heads of earthly kings, not the King of Kings.
As a second wave attack descends on the United States, where a spiritual battle at the cultural and political level is already underway, the body of Christ must put the blood of the lamb over our families, communities and nation, rebuking in the name of Christ Jesus the viral spirit of fear and death that has come against us. By His blood we must declare that epidemiologically the curve will flatten and that spiritually it will pass over.
The Lamb and the Crown
Revelation 6:1 says, I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, “Come!” I looked and there before me was a white horse. It’s rider held a bow, and he was given a crown…
The earth is facing a decision point. Which crown will we serve––the spirit of fear unleashed by a global pandemic or a spirit of faith, hope and love found only in His presence? The false prince of darkness or the true Prince of Peace? The ultimate outcome of this war is unfolding before our very eyes.
God wants to break the chains. But the enemy isn’t going to let us go that easily––just as Pharaoh refused to let the Israelites leave time after time.
Over the last few months, the phrasebreak the chains has come up over and over again. Certainly, we must “break the chains of transmission” of this virus. The physical dimension of this battle is real and we should be vigilant. But our part as Christians is to break the chains of fear by applying the blood of the lamb over our homes, our neighborhoods and our country.
For the next 30 days, gathered in our homes with our families, we are positioned to unleash a spiritual counterattack through prayer and worship that marshalls the kingdom armies of God against the invisible armies of coronavirus and fear that have come against us.
They conquered him completely through the blood of the Lamb and the powerful word of his testimony. They triumphed because they did not love and cling to their own lives, even when faced with death. So rejoice, you heavens, and every heavenly being! Revelation 12:11-12 TPT
Divine transition is at hand. The Chain Breaker is breaking the power of fear so that we can transition into the greatest measure of faith and freedom we have ever known. Only the blood of Christ has the power to break the chains of bondage that have long held us captive so that we can walk into the new Promised Land God has for us.
