END OF 2020
Though the mountains shake and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken, nor my covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord, who has great compassion on you. Isaiah 54:10
Dear Friends and Family:
The December 2019 Hidden Manna Ministry year-end letter said—2020 is a year of hindsight with foresight! Little did we know then how significant these words would be! This has been a year of looking back in order to find a way forward.
Hindsight—Everything old is new again. Have you noticed how the old testament has come to life in new ways this year as we struggle to understand current circumstances? Patterns and strategies from ancient history are speaking directly to our contemporary battle to find a path forward. Isaiah, Nehemiah, Esther, Psalms, Kings and others are releasing endlessly compelling truth and insight for the present moment.
Foresight—Acceleration. At the end of 2019 HMM foresaw the acceleration of an exponential forgiveness movement rippling through the Church to transform families, communities, cultures and nations. Given what has transpired in 2020, it is increasingly clear that the Church—not government—holds vital keys to resolving our present problems! Forgiveness is the banner under which God is calling His Church to arise! We must go first, reflecting His character and extending forgiveness in every difficult circumstance.
Many see the apocalypse in these turbulent times. While that may be true, it’s not what you think! Apokalypsis is the Greek word for revelation! We are in the midst of a great unveiling, the revelation of Christ’s rule and reign on earth as it is in heaven! For those apart from Christ, this may seem the end of all things. But for those in Christ—the Ekklesia—the apocalypse will bring a joyous revelation of heaven on earth.
Ekklesia is the Greek word for church which means legislative assembly or selected ones. It’s not a religious term—rather it’s a political and governmental term signifying a group of people who have been summoned and gathered together to govern. Jesus used this term in Matthew 16:18-19—
This truth of who I am will be the bedrock foundation on which I will build my church—my legislative assembly, and the power of death will not be able to overpower it! I will give you the keys of heaven’s kingdom realm to forbid on earth that which is forbidden in heaven, and to release on earth that which is released in heaven.
The Ekklesia is the revelation of Christ’s rule and reign on earth. Worldly governments are falling but the eternal government of Christ is being established! The Father is calling back his sons and daughters, prodigals and backsliders, sinners and saints to renewed identity, destiny and authority befitting His people. This is a time to turn and return! God is raising up His Ekklesia to employ the keys of governmental authority in His kingdom!
As old patterns give way to new, Hidden Manna Ministry has experienced a year of consolidation, refinement, and expansion. Lockdowns moved us into virtual ministry—opening doors and removing boundaries to gathering, blessing and encouraging the body of Christ. Restricted in-person meetings have spurred us toward offering online ministry appointments, training modules and gatherings.
Listening intently for what God is doing in this season has deepened our intercession and energized the prophetic giftings of our team members. Hidden Manna is moving into 2021 with hope-filled expectation and anticipation of the explosion of God’s kingdom on earth!
We send our heartfelt gratitude and prayers for you, our faithful friends, to rejoice in the sweetness of our coming Savior in a special way this year.
