Though often lost in modern-day holiday hustle and bustle, the heart of Christmas has always been about the presence of God—Immanuel, God with us. Father God sent His one and only Son into the world, born a baby in a lowly manager, to be crucified and shed His innocent blood that we might have restored communion with Him. The Blood of God’s precious Son is our admission into His presence, and our overcoming victory!
We overcome the accuser of our brothers and sisters by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony! from Revelation 12:10
There is no substitute for the blood of the Lamb—not the blood of rams, nor sacrifice, nor children, nor any other power in the universe. The blood of Jesus, the Passover Lamb, is our ultimate weapon and pure protection. Nothing drives back the enemy like the Blood of Jesus. The enemy simply cannot pass through the Blood.
You have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to myriads of angels in joyful assembly, to the congregation of the firstborn, enrolled in heaven. You have come to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel. Hebrews 12:22-24
Communion is our testimony. As often as we partake of the bread and the cup, we lift up our LORD in remembrance, celebration and activation of His total victory over sin and death. As we, by faith, bring present the essence of our LORD’s finished work—the Blood—we invoke that victory power over the enemy camp. We execute that victory power over sin and death to stop every enemy attempt to drag us back into captivity. It is done!
Our lives and personhood are irrevocably marked and sealed by the blood of Jesus which speaks a better word—
PAID IN FULL!
And by the Blood of His cross, everything in heaven and earth is brought back to himself—back to its original intent, restored to innocent again! Colossians 1:20
COMMUNION—THE ULTIMATE VICTORY FEAST
Communion pulls down from heaven the overcoming power of the Cross and the Blood into the earth. The corporate expression of this act of obedience and renewal carries supernatural power.
Communion is a supreme weapon of our warfare.
For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death [and victory over death] until he comes. 1 Corinthians 11:26
Find your way back to the heart of Christmas this year—Immanuel, God with us—by feasting in God’s presence through communion. Remember His sacrificial victory on the cross as you and yours take communion around your family tree—the bread and the cup breaking through the glitter and golden trinkets to lay hold of the LORD’s victory over all that belongs to you. This is the source of true rejoicing!
Father, thank you for your masterful plan of redemption—sending your Son into the world that we might have restored relationship with you.
We take this bread together and hold it up before You in remembrance of Your body, broken for us. Through your sacrifice and suffering you purchased our lives as sons and daughters of the
Living God. We proclaim your death, resurrection and victory over sin and darkness. As we partake of this bread, we testify to your victory over every power and principality that has come against our home and our nation.
We take the cup in remembrance of your victory over sin and death. As we partake of this cup today, we testify to the victorious power of Christ’s blood over every power of hell that has come against us. We declare that the blood of Jesus is greater than all of our sin. We declare that His Blood liberates us from all sin and evil. We do not put our trust in men, in good works, wise strategies, or powers that be. Our faith is in Christ alone. Of him, through him, and to him we give all praise, honor, glory and thanksgiving. Amen.
Our decree:
We decree that the blood of Christ restores us to God’s presence and establishes our victory over sin and death in our families and nation today.
Know your enemy and know yourself,
and you can fight a hundred battles without disaster.
