3 THINGS ON GODS HEART FOR 2020
Forgiveness—A forgiveness movement is underway for 2020—not just forgiveness received from God, but forgiveness extended to others. We see forgiveness infiltrating our national narrative in TV shows and movies, in books and speeches. Our world is desperately in need of forgiveness to bridge the divide that is destroying families and nations. People want to be free from unforgiveness and they want to live in harmony. This is the year we learn to lay down judgment and criticism in favor of freedom found through forgiveness..
Forsake the habit of criticizing and judging others, and then you will not be criticized and judged in return. Don’t look at others and pronounce them guilty, and you will not experience guilty accusations yourself. Forgive over and over and you will be forgiven over and over. Luke 6:37 TPT
Love—Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second [commandment] is this: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” There is no commandment greater than these. Mark 12:30-31 TPT
The unrelenting human struggle to wholly love God and neighbor will be met with a supernatural outpouring of God’s provision in 2020. Deeper revelation of our God-given identity as His loved and cherished children will ignite in us a passion to love others in the same way He loves us.
Love is the natural overflow of forgiveness and is the measure of life lived in harmony with God and one another. By coming out of agreement with judgment and criticism, and into agreement with our identity as God’s beloved, we will begin to see what He sees and to do as He does. God makes no judgments—He loves each one unconditionally, and every problem finds its solution in Him.
For love is supreme and must flow through [all other] virtues. Love becomes the mark of true maturity. Colossians 3:14 TPT
Intimacy with God—Holy hunger is drawing us near to God in 2020. We were created to be in relationship with Him and others. Holy dissatisfaction with peripheral relationships is drawing us into His presence in search of authentic and intimate communion.
Basking in the presence of God reveals in us the magnitude of His love for us and unveils our true identity and likeness in Christ. Deep experience of His overwhelming love and absolute forgiveness compels us to love and forgive as we are loved and forgiven. From the arms of His embrace, our arms are opened wide to embrace others with all we have been given in Christ!
But the love of God will be perfected within the one who obeys God’s Word. We can be sure that we’ve truly come to live in intimacy with God, not just by saying, “I am intimate with God,” but by walking in the footsteps of Jesus. 1 John 2:5 TPT
God is pouring out revelation in this season as He matures His Bride and readies her for the end-time harvest. He desires to speak intimately with each one of us, giving us deeper revelation of Himself and His kingdom plans and purposes. What He reveals is always in part—He longs for us to sit with Him, pray into what is revealed, and seek Him for what is still to come!
Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know. Jeremiah 33:3 NIV
