Unforced Rhythms of Grace

As the rush, buzz and flurry of life in the 21st century nibble away at our rest and trust in God, we are drawn to Jesus’ invitation in Matthew 11:28-30.
“Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” (The Message)
Unforced rhythms of grace. Is that the cadence of your life? Free from strife and strain? Distractions? Unencumbered by anxious thoughts?
As Christians, we struggle to live surrendered lives, yielded to Christ and trusting in the unfailing love and provision of our heavenly Father. The tyranny of the urgent distracts us from the wonder of the grace-filled present.
How may we learn to move more fully in the “freely and lightly” rhythms of grace that Jesus offers those who keep company with Him? Share what you are learning here. . .

  1. Dana says:

What if we REALLY BELIEVED that He has ALL THINGS in His hand. Nothing but nothing can deter or diminish Him from working ALL things for good in our lives. So. . . what exactly are we fretting about?

  2. Donna Bolding says:

Wouldn’t we rest in Him in everything we do, if we could get past ourselves and trust in Him for all things, giving thanks, having gratitude and obedience?

  3. Lynda Lee says:

Our LORD is faithful. He always keeps HIS word to us. Remembering that, I try to not be anxious and know that HIS timing is perfect, maybe not what I want but, HE is always in perfect control and the results are far beyond and better then whatever I thought and hoped for. PRAISE to our perfect LORD and KING!
